Alan James Vogel Of New Milford, PA Alan “Al/ Albert” James Vogel, died peacefully, September 10, 2020 with his family by his side. Alan was born July 11, 1948 in Binghamton, NY and raised in Hallstead, PA, the son of Ed and Dorothy Vogel. On March 29, 1967 he married Linda Chamberlain. Al and Linda began dating when they both were in the 9thgrade. Al was the owner and operator of Vogel’s Towing and Repair in New Milford, PA for over 40 years. Al was dedicated and hardworking at the shop until the very end. He loved playing with his model trains, attending antique car and truck shows, visiting the Dutch Country in Lancaster, taking his beloved Mustang for rides and of course his tow trucks. Even though he worked more than anything he always enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered as hardworking, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Alan will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda, his children, Missy (Tom) Palmatier, Mindy (Fred) Shiptoski, Steve (Megan) Vogel, and Josh (Keithandra) Vogel, by his grandchildren, Ava, Aidan, Tyler (Kelsea), Jeremy (Kaelin) Adam, (Katie), Brad, Callen and Annalyn, and his great grandchildren, Mason and Emily. He is survived by his sisters, Barb Carey, Nancy (Larry) Ogline, also by his brothers and sister-in-law’s, Bill (Cathy) Chamberlain, Tom (Chris) Chamberlain, and Candy (Bryan) Roosa and Bryan White. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Finally, he is survived by several life-long friends. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, by his granddaughter, Ansley, and by his brother, Eddie (Sharon) Vogel. The Vogel family would like to extend a special thank you to the community of New Milford and the Geisinger CMC ICU/ Trauma Center Staff for all their care, concern and support of Alan and his family. Visitation will be on Monday, September 14, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home - 747 Jackson Ave, Susquehanna, PA. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 11:00am at the funeral home. However; due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral is for immediate family only. There will be a processional following from the funeral home through Hallstead, New Milford, and will end with a burial at Lakeview Cemetery. All towing and first responder personnel are encouraged to join the procession.
