Alfonse (Funzie) Apicella Of Deposit, NY It is with great sadness that the family of Alfonse Vincent Apicella announce his passing on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the age of 87 years. Best known to his family and friends as Funzie, he will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Anna Marie; and his children, Theresa (Angelo) Ragosta, Michele Apicella-Luning and Vincent (Mandy) Apicella. Funzie will also be fondly remembered as Pops, by his nine grandchildren, Amanda (Joshua) Apicella-Springstead, JD Peralta, Anthony Peralta, John (Patricia) Luning, Gerard (Nathaly) Luning, Brandon Luning, Timmy Penso, Vincent Apicella and Robert Ragosta; and his nine great-grandchildren. Funzie was predeceased by his parents, Vincenzo and Carmela (Capone) Apicella. Funzie a proud Marine veteran grew up in the Bronx, retired from the Village of Pelham and lived in Deposit for over 20 years. A Mass of Catholic Burial in memory of Funzie will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 98 Second Street, Deposit, NY. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery also in Deposit, NY. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Hennessy’s Funeral Home 78 Second Street Deposit, NY.
