Alfred G. Green Jr. Of North Jackson, PA Alfred G. Green Jr. 74, of North Jackson, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at the Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY. Alfred was predeceased by his father Alfred G. Green Sr.; daughter Meghan Elizabeth Green; and grandson Benjamin Matthew Green. He was survived by his loving wife of 54 years Alberta Green; his mother Helen (Covert) Green; son Lorne Green; daughter Doriann Silvernail; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Jonathan, Alexander, and Victoria Green, Alicia Heller, and Jennifer and Kevin Silvernail; and several very close friends. Alfred was a graduate of Livingston High School in New Jersey. After high school Alfred worked as an accredited radio news reporter for WVPO Stroudsburg, PA and NBC news radio affiliate West Easton, PA. He then became a corporate news writer for Orange and Rockland Utilities as well as New York State Electric and Gas, for which he worked until his retirement. Alfred was a member of the Stillwater Volunteer Fire Company in Stillwater NJ. He was also a devoted member of the St. Michael’s Church in Binghamton, NY. After his retirement Alfred enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family who will miss him dearly. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 10am at the St. Michael’s Church, Clinton St. Binghamton, NY, with Rev. James Dudko officiating. Interment will be held in the St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
