Angela “Angie” Orner, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, surrounded by her family at Geisinger Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was best known as “Grammie” to all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her parents Carmello & Blanche (Tolomei) Ficarro; her big brother, Salvatore Ficarro; and her fun-loving nephew, Sheridan Ficarro.

Angie is survived by her children Donnie & Jodi Orner, Carmen & Scott Megivern, Matt & Heather Orner; grandchildren Cody, Olivia, and Jaydin, Troy (Danielle), Tristan, Bethany, Shania, Miranda (Cisco), Rylea, Christopher; great grandchildren Elias, Oliver, Reagan, and Ember; her beloved animals Yankee, Bella, Frankie; her sisters, Martha Stanford, Grace Welch; sister-in-law Joan Ficarro; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Angie was born in Susquehanna, PA on January 18, 1952, and graduated from Laurel Hill Academy. After high school, Angie attended Broome Community College where she earned her Nursing Degree. She worked her entire career at Barnes Kasson Hospital and retired as the Director of Nursing at SNF. Angie was a die-hard Yankees and Kansas City Chiefs Fan. She knew every fact of each of the players, especially Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Judge. She loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was their biggest fan.  Angie also enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking, and attending Daily Mass. Angie was a soft-spoken person and was always helping others any way she could, without looking for credit. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Kadima Rehab & Nursing for their excellent care.

The family will receive friends at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 4 to 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Church, 15 East Church St. Susquehanna, PA.
