Anita Clark, 87 of Deposit, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Binghamton, NY.

She was predeceased by her parents Bruno & Minna Anthonisen; sister Agnes Christina Ford; granddaughter Kristie Clark; great granddaughter Paxton Prochazka.

Anita is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Donald Clark; two sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth & Karen Clark; Mark & Mollie Clark; granddaughters Kimberly & Drew Prochazka, Kellie & Jeff White, Kourtnie & Evan Whitmore, Amy & Tom Andersen, Bethany Clark, Carrie Clark; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Anita’s graceful, beautiful spirit was influenced by her strong Christian Faith. She was Youth Choir Director, Organist and taught Sunday School at the Hale Eddy Methodist Church for many years.

Anita grew up in Long Island, proud of being a first generation American, with both parents having immigrated from Germany. She grew up with a strong work ethic, as her parents owned and operated several delicatessens.

Her family moved to the Deposit area and she graduated from Deposit Central School, Valedictorian of her class, 1953. During the summers, she enjoyed being the head waitress at Clearwater’s Hotel, Oquaga Lake.

She married Don Clark in 1953 and was very proud to be a loving housewife and mother.

Anita worked side by side with Don throughout her adult life, in their many business ventures, including; Don Clark Builders, owned and managed rental properties, licensed Real Estate Agent (Strout Realty), extremely instrumental in development and operation of Beaver Mountain Log Homes until retirement, (bookkeeping, home shows, banking, etc.)

They “retired” to start a beef farm in Morris, NY, active in business as well as the Morris Garden Club. She also loved going on destination bus trips!

Anita touched many lives - she loved meeting and interacting with people and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 29, 2022, at 7pm at First United Methodist Church, 109 Second St. Deposit, NY.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Wednesday, from 5pm to 7pm.

Interment will be held in the Hale Eddy Cemetery at a later date.
