Arthur “Max” Straway Sr.

Of Ararat Township, PA

1947- 2022

Born to the late Raymond and Pearl Straway of Sparta, NJ on October 26th, 1947.

Max unexpectedly lost his life on May 27th, 2022.  Since that day his beloved family has been trying to locate him. Max was last seen by his daughter, Pamela Johnson, husband Tucker of Montague, NJ. His son Arthur (Frog) Straway, and wife Laura of Ararat PA. As well as his beloved six granddaughters Jaime, Ali and husband James, Brooke, Paige, Tori, Rhea, two great grandsons Jayden and Nicholas, and four granddogs.

There is proof he has had contact with his brothers Robert and his wife Sharon of Staunton, VA, George and his partner Jeanne of Fischer’s, IN, his sister in laws Sylvia Straway of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and Geraldine Stevens of Andover, NJ.

We need your help to find him!

In earlier years Max could have been found trucking up and down the east coast for Grinnell Haulers located in Sparta, NJ, or supervising the dirt roads of Ararat Twp.

Previously, Max enjoyed riding around in his Toyota with his two spoiled cocker spaniels, Missy and Brittany. You might have seen him while he was visiting a local watering hole. Recently other favorite hide outs for Max included his cabin, overlooking his pond, or on his deck where countless stories were told.

The family believes that if you find remains of duct tape you may be on to something. Other helpful hints may include lottery ticket shavings, cookie crumbs and the distant sound of his four-wheeler.

We are not requesting the search party to gather just yet. We currently have no leads as to where Max is, but we have a strong feeling he may have found his way to his beloved wife, Sharon of 55 years.

Private family arrangements will be entrusted to Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Inc.
