Barbara J. Davey (66) went with the Lord on January 27 ^th after a long courageous battle with Lung Cancer.

Barbara was born on March 27, 1956 to Juliana E. Kramer (nee Goeltz) and John J. Kramer in Queens Village, New York, where she attended Ss. Joachim & Anne Catholic School.  She loved summers at the beach.  She later attended Hunter College.  Barbara was a dedicated mother and homemaker in Manhattan before relocating to Deposit, NY in 1992 where she was a caregiver for her mother and began breeding German Shepherds.  Barbara was a very talented artist (oils) and enjoyed gardening, tending to her hobby farm and baking.  Over the years she loved reading and watching movies.  She was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her son, Ian Davey of Willseyville, her granddaughter Eva Davey of Alabama, sisters Karen Kramer and Juliana Widmer of Deposit, nephew Albert Widmer, and great-nephew Albert (Skyler) Widmer of Deposit, NY

She is predeceased by her parents, sister Mary, paternal grandparents John and Bertha Kramer and maternal grandparents Julius and Bertha Goeltz.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:00 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Church, 98 2nd Street, Deposit.

Family will receive friends at the church at 8:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 9:00 AM.

Burial will be in St. Charles cemetery, in Farmingdale.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Madhuri Yalamanchili and the entire staff at Broome Oncology for their tireless work in treating Barbara in addition to the staff at Lourdes Hospice for their compassionate care in Barbara’s final days.
