Bernice “Ginger” Thomas passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at UHS General Hospital in Binghamton, NY.

She was predeceased by her parents Karl & Eleanor (Winn) Thies; first husband George Miller Jr., second husband Stephen Thomas; two sons George Miller III and Brian Miller; and sister Dolores E. Sullivan.

Ginger is survived by her brother Karl Thies Jr.; step daughter Lisa Hughes; and grandson George Miller IV.

Ginger was born in Boulevard Hospital, Long Island City, NY on March 21, 1940. She attended PS 31 and PS 62 Queens, NY and graduated from Bayside High in Queens.

She worked in the family jewelry for many years until it closed and then York Ladder in Long Island City until she retired in 2010. Following her retirement Ginger and her husband permanently moved to Deposit, NY. She was a member of the Deposit Theatre Association and an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Deposit, NY, as well as the Moose Auxiliary.  Ginger also enjoyed spending time her friends, attending events and playing cards. She will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church at a later date.
