Beulah "Billie" A. Karcher, peacefully departed this life on January 18, 2026, at the age of 89, in Deposit, NY. Born on November 1, 1936, in Cadosia, NY, Billie lived a life characterized by her deep commitment to family, service, and her love for music.

Billie devoted many years to working in nursing homes in Skaneateles and Auburn, NY, and later served at the Deposit Family Care Center until her retirement. Her compassionate nature and dedication to helping others made a lasting impact on the lives she touched throughout her career. She proudly received her nursing license in 1974, a significant milestone in a career grounded in care and empathy.

Beyond her professional achievements, Billie was a beloved member of the Hale Eddy Community Church, where she found solace and community among fellow parishioners. She shared her passion for music with her family and friends, often playing guitar and singing, fulfilling a dream that began in her youth when, at just 16, she graced the airwaves of a radio station in Albany. Billie also found joy in playing cards, camping, and spending winters in Florida, treasures that her loving family fondly recalls.

She was a licensed EMT for many years and assisted on the SAVES Ambulance in Skaneateles. Billie was a member of the Hancock Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member and past President of the PENNY Bluegrass association.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Karen Karcher, Kim (Andy) Scoville, Wanda Tanner, and Lisa (Don) Peters. Billie's legacy continues with her grandchildren: Sarah West, Martin (Nicole) Mudge, Chief Andrew "AJ" (Alicia) Scoville, Jordan Scoville, Tiffany (Jeremy) McPherson, Stephen Tanner, Donald (Sidney) Peters II, and Nicholas (Taylor) Peters, as well as her great-grandchildren: Madison and Macey West, Jaden and Skyler Mudge; Dakota, Taylor, and Joey Ulrich; Seth, Tessa, Emma Tanner; Jane, Millie, Oliver, Logan, and Landyn Peters; Anna, Jonathan, and Lizzie Harris; and Lillyanna McPherson. Billie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who cherished their time with her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur F. Karcher, her parents Joe and Margaret Buchanan, her daughter Cristia Karcher, and her grandson Zachary Peters.

A memorial service to honor Billie will be held on January 24, 2026, at Hale Eddy Community Church, located at 123 Hale Eddy Rd, Hancock, NY. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a luncheon at Presbyterian Church 129 Second St. Deposit, NY.

Billie's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and song, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but remembered for her unwavering strength, kindness, and the joyous music she brought into our lives.
