Bridget Wingerter Of Deposit, NY Bridget Wingerter of River Rd. Deposit, N.Y passed peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2019 in her home after a long illness. She joined the Lord after spending her last day surrounded and comforted by the love of her family. Bridget (Begley) was born on September 11th, 1929 in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. At an early age, she helped with chores at her family’s modest farm on Cregganbane Rd., Crossmaglen. She was always eager to help her mother with housework and to assist in the care of her three younger siblings. At 19, Bridget joined her two older sisters in NYC and worked as a waitress in Schraff’s Restaurant in Manhattan. She married Frederick Charles Wingerter on Aug. 23, 1952, settling in Bronx, N.Y. After having four sons, they moved to Lindenhurst, Long Island where a daughter completed the family. The Wingerters eventually landed in upstate Deposit, N. Y., where Bridget worked in the elementary school cafeteria for several years. She devoted her prime years to raising and nurturing her children and grandchildren with exceptional love and attention. Bridget invariably put everyone’s comfort and needs before her own and her unselfishness has always been highly revered. Grandma’s house was considered the most safe, comfortable, fun-filled, delicious meeting place for all her grandchildren, and this is what she found most dear. Bridget was a devout Catholic her entire life and a cherished member of her church community. She unfailingly applied her religious values to her relationships and interactions, as she treated everyone with respect and kindness. Bridget is survived by her five children; James (Cindy), Daniel, Brian (Allison), John (Aimee) & Jean.
