Calvin Oney, 82, of Thompson, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Geisinger CMC Hospital in Scranton, PA.

He was predeceased by his parents Oscar & Doris (Simpson) Oney and loving wife Kathleen J. (Butts) Oney, siblings Joyce Schroder, Maryann Costa, and William Oney.

Calvin is survived by his one daughter and son-in-law Barbara Oney (Bob) of Thompson, PA; two grandchildren, Meranda Piazza (Josh) of Erie, PA and Jordyn Oney-Roth, of Thompson, PA; sisters-in-law Leeann of Thompson, PA and Jackie of Stevens Pointe, PA, Cheryl of Florida, and Carrie of Susquehanna, PA; brothers-in-law Charles of Thompson, PA, Keith of Thompson, PA; dear cousin Mary Evans of Lenox, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Calvin was born Rock Lake, PA and raised in Susquehanna County. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. After his time in the service Calvin worked as a boilermaker working on water tanks for many years followed by working in construction until his retirement. He loved the casino, scratch off lotto tickets and the playing the power ball. Calvin never missed an episode of Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will miss him dearly.

A Graveside Service will be held in the Lanesboro Cemetery, Lanesboro, PA, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 1pm.
