Caroline Hope Emerson Of Endicott, NY Caroline Hope Sanford Emerson went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2020. Caroline was born March 31, 1942 in Hambletville, NY. She is predeceased by her parents Maurice “Sandy” & Edna Belle Van Aken Sanford Liens and siblings Virginia “Ginny” Sanford, Maurice “Buddy” Sanford, Diana Sanford, Gerald Sanford, Martin Sanford and Rose Ann “Nanny” Hutton. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years Joseph Emerson, daughters Cheryl and Karen (Bill Kerbin) and sons Craig and Jason (Scarlett Marshall), granddaughter Rachelle Brainard (Randall), great grandchildren Ashton, Aceleinn, Riese and Zoey Brainard, and a brother Ronald. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, who she had a special bond with and which many of them thought of her as more than just their favorite Aunt. Caroline spent most of her life in the Deposit area raising her family and working at Scott’s. Previously to her recent move to Endicott, NY, she had lived for 57 years in the same home in Sanford, NY. There she enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and entertaining people in her kitchen. She was known for her sense of humor, storytelling, and wonderful dinners with enough food for anyone no matter who would stop by. She always made time to listen to a story about someone’s bad day or share in someone’s good news over a cup of coffee around the kitchen table. Caroline and Joe were able to travel extensively after their retirement and made several driving trips across the US to visit Joe’s sister Ruth, who lives in Montana, usually by way of Texas. She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, in Stilesville, NY. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
