Chadwick Drew Buteau, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on May 15, 1993, in Sidney, New York. He passed away on October 12, 2025, in Deposit, New York, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and an unwavering spirit.
Chadwick performed tree trimming and tree removal, showcasing not only his industrious nature but also his deep connection to the outdoors. He also shared in the family business of buying and selling cars alongside his father, fostering a bond that highlighted the importance of family ties in both his professional and personal life.
An alumnus of Deposit Central High School, Chadwick furthered his education at SUNY Cobleskill, where he cultivated his interests and prepared for the various paths he would take in life. As an avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting and fishing, proudly carrying the title of Eagle Scout, which stands as a testament to his commitment to service and leadership in his community. Chadwick enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, frequently spending time playing with his beloved dog, King, and cherishing moments of travel to places like Brazil and Florida. His enthusiasm for music, fast cars, and Trump supporting reflected his dynamic personality.
Chadwick was known for his big heart and willingness to help anyone in need. Friends and family alike will remember his generosity and the warmth he brought to their lives. He was surrounded by a loving family, which includes his parents, Daniel K. Buteau and Cindy Scofield Buteau, and brothers, Daniel K. Buteau Jr. and Adam K. Buteau (Amberly). He is also survived by his cherished nephews, Emmit A. Buteau, Ethan R. Buteau, and Adam Jay Buteau, along with niece, Rori Rae. His large extended family includes uncles Peter A. Buteau, Richard C. Scofield, and Joseph E. Scofield; aunts Kathleen Buteau Deslauriers, Denise M. Buteau, Laurie Scofield (Fred), and Julie A. Scofield; sister Lely Correa; and several cousins who will also deeply feel his absence.
Chadwick's legacy is further distinguished by the memories of those who preceded him in death, including his grandparents, David R. Buteau Sr., Patricia K. Buteau, Richard C. Scofield, and Theris Gerline Scofield, as well as his uncles, James J. Buteau and David R. Buteau Jr.
As we gather to remember and celebrate his life, friends and family are invited to a visitation at Hennessey's Funeral Home in Deposit, NY, located at 78 Second St., on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A Service will be held at the Funeral Home directly following the visitation at 8:00pm.
A Private Burial will be held in Walton Cemetery, Walton, NY.
