It is with great sadness that the family of Charles “Chuck” Proffitt, announces his passing on October 10, 2022, at the age of 85 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Harold L. & Helen (Fitch) Proffitt Sr.; and his wife Louise A. (Chandler) Proffitt; brother Harold Proffitt; and sister Carol Tolbert.

Chuck is survived by his three daughters, Heather & Craig Conklin, Deborah (Leo Shew) Proffitt, Suzanne & Ed Moore; grandchildren Joshua (Jen), Danielle (Sean), Brittney (Nick), Casey, Jason (Tara), Zachary (Sarah), Stacie (Tammy), and Matthew; great grandchildren Colton, Charlotte, Jaxon, Giovanni and Giada; brother Richard (Donna) Proffitt and John (Ellen) Proffitt; and many nieces, nephews and cousin.

Chuck was born and raised in Deposit, NY. Following High School Charles Served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. After the military he worked for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle Washington for many years before moving back to Deposit, NY. Upon moving back to Deposit Chuck had many occupations including working for Hartz’s Plumbing & Heating. He was considered a “Master of All Trades” and was always helping throughout the community. Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Deposit, NY, where he served as Grand Master for many years. He also was a member of the Episcopal & Presbyterian churches, Deposit Fire Department and served Town of Sanford as a Court Officer and Planning Board Member. Charles had a great sense of humor, quit wit, and strong work ethic. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 1pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Deposit, 129 Second St. Deposit, NY.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 11am till 1pm.
