Charles R. Smith Of Susquehanna, PA Our forever young father Charles R. Smith died on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Barnes Kasson Hospital. He will be home for Christmas with his wife Freida. Charles is survived by his children Jane & James Madigan, Catherine & Paul Corse and Mary Parks; also surviving are his loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Sinon. Following retirement from Crowley Foods with over 40 years of service he enjoyed car rides with his wife and spending time with the grandchildren. In later years, he could be seen sitting on his porch, enjoying “the blue skies”, gathering sticks in his yard and picking dandelions. He enjoyed the neighborhood camaraderie. Most of all, dad looked forward to his daily car rides to Boerners Pond, around the horn to Hickory Grove and to the old homestead of Echo Villa, always hoping to see deer, bear or any wildlife. We listened attentively as he reminisced about all of the local landmarks and how Susquehanna was a “Booming Town!”. A special thank you to Dr. B. Patel, Dr. P. Patel, med-surg staff and SNF for their caring expertise during his final days. There will be no services.
