Clara Elizabeth Rivenburg, 68, of Lakewood, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Geisinger CMC Hospital, Scranton, PA, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest J. Riveburg Sr. and Pauline R. Riveburg. She had 5 brothers and 5 sisters; Ruth Cook, Charles Rivenburg, Ida Lewis, Jean Phillips, Florence Payne, Leon Riveburg, Leroy Rivenburg, Mary Martier, John Rivenburg, and Joseph Rivenburg; stepbrother Ernest J. Rivenburg Jr. She is also loved by several nieces, nephews, and her lifelong best friend James.

Clara was loved by so many people including her midnight buddy David Grosspietsch. She adored her dog Cheyenne and all her family. She resided with her sister Jean, nephew Joseph Hallstead and his fiancé Dorothy Grosspietsch and her best friend David. Clara loved to do puzzles and play card games.

She is reunited in heaven with all her loved ones included her companion Donald Pecka, brother Charlie, as well as many more.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2pm to 4pm at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA 18847.

Interment will be in East Ararat Cemetery at a later date.
