Clarence A. Russell Of Deposit, NY Clarence “Sonny” A. Russell, 91, born in Cascade Valley, Windsor, NY passed away at home with family on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Clarence was predeceased by his wife of 68 years Rosebud L. Russell; parents Clarence Sr. & Dorothy (Tripp) Russell; son Friend “Cork” Russell; 2 sisters Irene Stanton and Joann Pavlov; and brother Jay Russell. Clarence met Rosebud while working on her family farm of Oquaga Lake Road, where they built a house of their own and raised 3 sons. Clarence is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Lawrence (Lynda) Russell and Doug (Tracy) Russell; siblings Pauline Wood, Fred (Darlene) Russell, Joy (Tommy) Day, Roy Russell; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins that are too numerous to list. While supporting his family and helping any friend in need, Clarence worked for Agway Feed Mill in Binghamton, NY for 42 years as a truck driver and supervisor. After his retirement from Agway, he delivered school busses for Leonard’s of Deposit, NY for 20+ years. Some of his most enjoyable times were attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, traveling with Rosebud to almost all 50 states, Germany and Switzerland. Many years ago, Clarence coached little league baseball in Deposit, NY with many memorable wins and was an avid member of the Deposit Lions Club. The past several years he enjoyed spending time with friends over coffee at the Cornerstone Café and the Windsor Diner, tractor rides, milkshakes, mowing the yard and watching his little cupcake (Madison Barilla) grow. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 78 2nd Street Deposit, NY on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Funeral and Committal Service will be held at The McClure Cemetery in the spring at the convienence of the family due to the winter weather.
