Clay S. Weaver Of Susquehanna, PA   Clay S. Weaver, 73, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019, at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Elizabeth Weaver, a brother Kent “Skippy” James Weaver and sisters Cheryl Cleveland, Karen Rebecca Sherman, and Ann Weaver (infant). Clay is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Jo Weaver; daughters Renae and Tom McNair, Jennifer and John Yannone; son Christopher Weaver; seven grandchildren Logan, Keeton, Ann, Molly, Steele, Will, Juliana; three brothers Robert and Pat Weaver, Jerry Weaver (Janet), Dale and Mary Weaver; one sister Jane and Jim Znamirowski, also his in-laws; Thomas and Anne Dooley, Joseph and Maryann Dooley, Martin and Rose Dooley, Daniel and Rose Dooley, and beloved nieces and nephews. As a young man, Clay joined the US Navy, during which time he married the love of his life, Mary Jo. He spent all his years wholeheartedly dedicated to his wife and family. Clay made friends everywhere he went, but his dearest of all were the Alianos, Buccis, Conklins, and Janicellis. His love for all was larger than life and his humor infectious.  He was community minded and dedicated his time to the boards of the Susquehanna Community School District and Barnes-Kasson Hospital.  He loved the game of golf and part of the enjoyment was describing his game, hole by hole. During his postal career, he enjoyed serving as Postmaster in Susquehanna, Carlisle, and Nanticoke, returning to his hometown of Susquehanna, PA, until his retirement. Clay was a member and lector at St. John’s Church which is now part of the Most Holy Trinity Parish in Susquehanna, PA.  Clay was a deeply spiritual man who took great solace in his faith. He was comforted by the knowledge that he was united with Christ, at the end of his life. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 10:00am in the Most Holy Trinity Parish Church in Susquehanna, PA, with Rev. David Cramer officiating. Interment will be in the St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA on Friday December 27, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John’s Pro Life, 15 East Church St. Susquehanna, PA 18847.
