David Eugene Branning

June 25, 1958 — January 24, 2022

David Eugene Branning Of Hancock, NY David Eugene Branning, 63, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022, surrounded by his family at Wilson Medical Center. Dave was a member of the 1976 graduating class of Forest City Regional. In his youth, Dave spent much of his time focused on physical fitness, even so far as earning himself numerous awards and honors for his achievements in strength and running. After high school, Dave turned his attention to perfecting his carpentry skills, a trait he would use to create his legacy. Many people knew Dave for his talents and ability to build anything; from an entire home to create memories in, to a set of custom cabinets-built sight-unseen, all the way to a tiny birdhouse for his grandchildren. Although Dave’s talents were truly one of a kind, it was the heart he put into each and every thing he touched that made them all special. Dave used his time to create things for other people because he knew how something so small, or big, could mean so much to someone. Above all else, Dave was genuinely one of the most kind-hearted people anyone could meet. Dave would give the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket, if he knew someone else needed it; traits he instilled in his three children. If anyone spent any time talking with Dave, they would know how insanely proud he was of his children. Jason, Nick, and Amy meant the world to Dave and he would brag about them any chance he had. When Dave wasn't busy putting his carpentry skills to use, he was known for being outdoors, spending time on the family farm, hunting and teaching his children to fish. Dave was also known to have himself one hell of a good time doing whatever it was he was doing, living everyday like it was a gift, laughing and being surrounded with people he loved. Dave was never one to turn down a party or to let anyone leave that party hungry. The memories he created with his family and friends were some of his most cherished possessions. Dave was born in Honesdale PA, son of the late Eugene and Rachel Branning. Dave is survived by Debbie Branning (Kreutz) and their three children; Jason and his wife Stephanie, Bangor, PA; Nick and his wife Amy, Pleasant Mount, PA; and Amy and her husband, Jeff, Susquehanna, PA; and seven grandchildren who were the light of his life. He was a loving brother to seven siblings; Alayne, Julie, Bill, Linda, Steven, Matt and James; and was also the fun uncle to several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. For the time being, let's all raise a glass, share a memory and toast to Dave Branning. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Birchtown Stables, 78 Birchtown Drive, Forest City, PA 18421
