It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David “Dave” Hanrahan, born on August 28, 1954, in Deposit, New York, who passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, in Johnson City, New York.

Born to Robert and Ada Hanrahan, David grew up in Gulf Summit alongside his siblings. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Bobby Hanrahan. David is lovingly remembered by his brother Daniel (Cheryl) Hanrahan and sisters Diane (Mitch) Miller and Rita (David) Kelly.

David shared a lifelong friendship with his former spouse Kelly Hanrahan. Together they raised a family that brought them immense pride and joy. David is survived by his children: Stacey (Robert) Wilson, Scott (Elayna) Hanrahan, Matthew (Amanda) Simpkin, Erin (Frank) Kennedy, and Lisa (Paul) Everett. One of the greatest joys in David’s life was being “Papa” to his cherished grandchildren: Kylee, Kassidy, Erica, Caleb, and Kendra. He embraced every opportunity to be present in their lives as "The World's Best Grandpa".

Family was at the heart of everything David did. He found great joy in family dinners filled with laughter and conversation. Sundays were often reserved for watching football, a pastime he often looked forward to. Above all else, David had a huge heart and was willing to help anyone in need.

A private gathering will be held at the family's request at a later date. At David's request, no service will be held. In honor of David’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the Deposit Fire Department, PO Box 173, Deposit, NY 13754.

May David’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire love and connection among family and friends.
