David H. Trevarthan, 66, passed away on January 3, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY, surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ina Trevarthan, his brother Michael Trevarthan, his son David H. Trevarthan II, and his devoted wife of 47 years, Carol Trevarthan.

He is survived by his children Shain (Michael) Marbut, Jason Trevarthan, Jackie (Greg) Murray, and Roxanne Trevarthan, as well as his cherished grandchildren Alex, David, Lukas, Aydan and Kara.

David Trevarthan was an honorable veteran and dedicated family man. David proudly served in the Army for 20 years, displaying unwavering commitment and bravery. Following his service, he continued to contribute, devoting 17 years as a skilled diesel mechanic, leaving a mark of excellence in his work.

Beyond his professional endeavors, David was an active member of his community, serving on the Oakland town council, demonstrating his commitment to public service. His zest for life was reflected in love for travel and cherishing moments with his family, always creating laughter and joy wherever he went. His ability to bring a smile to others’ faces, even in difficult times, was truly remarkable.

David’s approach to life was an inspiration, living each day with a relaxed demeanor and an absence of stress. His legacy of dedication, humor, and kindness will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a void that will be deeply felt but also a legacy of warmth and positivity that will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 2 to 4pm followed by military honors.
