Dawn Elizabeth Bills, 87, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, passed away on March 26, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. Born on June 3, 1938, in Susquehanna, PA, Dawn graced this world with a spirit of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love until her final days.

A lifelong resident of Susquehanna County, Dawn devoted many years of her life working as a operator at Arrow Spinning and Robison Anton. Her meticulous craftsmanship and steady hands were marks of her professional journey, which she continued until her retirement. Beyond her vocational pursuits, Dawn opened her heart and home as a foster mother to many children throughout the years, fostering hope and care where it was needed most.

Dawn’s love extended beyond her immediate family to encompass her deep affection for animals. She was an avid gardener and had a passion for collecting and repairing dolls, embracing the beauty and comfort found in simple pleasures. Known for her compassionate nature, she took in several stray cats, ensuring they were cared for and fixed, nurturing life in all its forms with gentle hands. Dawn also found joy in reminiscing and sharing stories with family and friends.

Above all, Dawn cherished her family. She loved her grandchildren—Hannah, Shaun, Haley, and Megan—and took great pride in nurturing and supporting each of them. Her devoted son Michael Bills and daughter Penny Bills were central to her life, as was her sister, Sharon Wolf. Dawn was also survived by her sisters-in-law, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her devoted spouse, Ray Lee Bills, and her parents, Basil and Maude (Oakley) Hine. She was also predeceased by her siblings Ilene Williams, Glen Hine, Clifton Hine, Donald Hine, Douglas Hine, Rebecca Shay, and Erwin Hine.

A visitation to honor Dawn will be held on Wednesday April 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hennessey's Funeral Home, located at 747 Jackson Ave, Susquehanna, PA 18847. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Gelatt Cemetery.
