Deborah “Deb” M. McNamee, 72, of Susquehanna, PA passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at her home after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
She was predeceased by her parents Cyrus & Pauline Worthington.
Deb is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Denis M. McNamee; children Brianna Brown (Michael) of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, Bevin Carchidi Turner (Jason), of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren Daegan Fitzpatrick, Emma Brown, and Patrick Turner; two brothers Cyrus “Bud” Worthington, of Middlesex, NJ, and Kevin Worthington (Joyce) of Jersey City, NJ; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Deb was born in Bayonne, NJ on December 18, 1950. She attended Holy Family Academy in Bayonne, NJ. After high school she briefly worked in the New York Financial District. Soon after, she became a Register Nurse and worked at Prudential Health Care and Aetna Insurance. She retired in 2000 and moved to Susquehanna where she worked for several years at Susquehanna County WIC with her coworker and dear friend Mary Parks. Deb loved living in Susquehanna County and enjoyed her friends in both Susquehanna and Broome County. She had a lifelong love of learning and was an avid cook, gardener, artist, and socializer. Deb was devoted to her family, friends, and extended family in Ireland who will dearly miss her.
Sincere gratitude to Sacred Heart Hospice and all their wonderful staff and vendors for the prompt, courteous, respectful and excellent care and attention to Deb and family during her final weeks. Special thanks to Father Charles Cesaretti for his friendship, caring, constant support and prayers throughout Deb’s illness. Heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Allison Bunnell, and her staff for the patience, support, kindness, and professionalism during Deb’s calls and visits. Thanks also to Dr. Linda Thomas and Nicole French PA at Northeast Oncology and Radiation for their guidance, treatment and caring during Deb’s illness. Also, the exceptional nurses and support staff who treated Deb with unwavering kindness, professionalism, caring and love during all her visits and treatments. Last but certainly not least our gratitude to Dr. Joseph Bannon and his staff at CMC for their kindness, excellent care and attention to Deb during her surgeries and visits.
A Private Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local charity of one’s choosing.
