Diane Sabatelli
Of Thompson, PA
Diane Sabatelli, 51, of Thompson, PA, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022.
She was predeceased by her parents Joseph & Elizabeth Sabatelli.
Diane was survived by her loving companion David Curtis; her son, her most precious treasure Joseph Curtis; siblings Debbie (Joe) Stone; Dori (Corey) Spencer; mother and father-in-law Rosemary & Bob Curtis; sister-in-law Holly (Joe) Grausgruber; nieces and nephews Brion, Bridgette, Brandon, Brianna, Abbey, Malena; great nieces and nephews, Parker, Blake, Piper, and Reid; and her sidekick and watchdog Forest.
Diane was born on February 20, 1971 in Pittston, PA. She graduated from Susquehanna Community High School in 1989 and furthered her education at Penn State University pursuing her passion of becoming an Elementary School Teacher. She worked for many years as a teacher in the Catholic School system in South Central PA. When her Multiple Sclerosis no longer allowed her to hold a formal teaching job she moved back to the home she knew and loved in Thompson. Thus began her long legacy of volunteering and using her teaching skills in many other ways as: a Scout Leader, a CCD instructor, a Soccer coach, and a 4-H Leader. Diane also sat on the town council for Thompson as well as volunteered as an election official. As Joseph became school-aged Di turned to volunteering for any functions that needed planning or chaperoning. Diane enjoyed gardening and working with the many animals that called that farm home. She loved reading and watching sports. She was especially passionate about Penn State football. Diane’s heart was bigger than anyone’s and she would never turn a child or adult away who was in need. Her kind eyes, brilliant smile and infectious laugh could light up any room! Di always put the needs of her family and friends above her own. There was nothing greater or more important to her than family. She managed to leave a mark on everyone who had the pleasure to know her and will be greatly missed!
