Dolores J. Goodger Of Jackson Township, PA Dolores J. Goodger, 89 of Jackson Township, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Scranton Health Care Center. She was predeceased by her parents, Lewis E. & Isabelle C. Sparks; husband, A. William Goodger; daughter, Patricia M. Wilson; and sister, Loretta E. Gall; and nephew, Andrew Goodger. Dolores is survived by her children Joan K. & Kevin Kidney, Kathryn M. & Michael D. Flor, Theresa A. & Bruce Michaels; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren with 1 on the way; 5 nieces, and 1 nephew. Dolores was born in Elizabeth, NJ and raised in the nearby town of Garwood, NJ. She graduated with honors from Jonathon Dayton Regional High School in Springfield, NJ. Following high school Dolores married “Bill” Goodger. She worked as a waitress for 27 years; following that she went to work at Johnson & Johnson in the Legal Department for 16 years until her retirement. After retirement Dolores moved to Jackson Township, PA where she became very involved in her community. She was a devoted member of St. Martin of Tours Church in Jackson, PA; she served on several committees. She was an ardent supporter of the St. Martin of Tours Arts Council, adding her talents both on and off the stage. Dolores was a very patriotic woman and a proud member of the local Daughters of the American Revolution where she served as their secretary. She was also a member of the Canawacta Rod & Gun Club where she also served as secretary. She often would boast about being quite the “sharpshooter.” Dolores also belonged to many other local organizations, including the Roadrunners Club, the Widows Club, the Monday Club, wherever she could lend a hand. Many will remember Dolores for her gregarious personality and quick witted humor. She loved being a part of organizations and made new friends effortlessly. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10 am at St. Martin of Tour’s Church in Jackson, PA. The repast will be immediately following the mass at Green Gables Restaurant in New Milford, PA. Internment will be in the St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11 am.
