Doris M. Gruscavage, 97, of Deposit, NY passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at UHS General Hospital in Binghamton, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter Gruscavage; parents Frank & Marietta Mills; son-in-law John Zeitz; sister and brother-in-law Leora & Clarence Coddington; and brothers Clinton and Earl Mills.

Doris is survived by her children Evelyn Zeitz and James & Pamela Gruscavage; longtime companion Donald Gleason and his loving family; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris was a lifelong resident of Deposit, NY. She worked at Bassin’s Department Store, Browns Pharmacy, and Crane’s Liquor Store both in Deposit, NY. Doris was extremely active in the Christ Episcopal Church in Deposit, NY. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star. Doris provided transportation for the elderly as part of the Deposit Foundation. She enjoyed, sewing, crocheting, reading and crossword puzzles. Doris will be dearly missed by all her loving family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church, 14 Monument St. Deposit, NY on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 1pm.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 11am till 1pm.

Interment will be in the Hambletville Cemetery, Deposit, NY, directly following the service.
