Dorothy M. Raymond Leonard Of Deposit, NY Dorothy M. Leonard, 85, of Deposit, NY passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY. She was predeceased by her first husband Hank Raymond and second husband Tom Leonard, Sr.; sisters Hazel Warner, and Joan Quinney; son-in-law Jim Hartz. Dorothy is survived by her children: Deb (Ray) Hartz–Reindl and Dan (Shari) Raymond; step- daughter: Lisa Leonard, 5 step- grandchildren & 2 step great-grandchildren; siblings: Jean Hardwick and Ann Cole-Campbell; grandchildren: Shawn (Susan) Hartz, Summer (Thomas) Reis, Megan (John) Miller, Ashley (Christoph) Halverson, Lindsey (Matt) Bell, Kristi Raymond (Thomas Getzke); 20 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; MANY nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy worked for many years at the bank in Deposit as a teller. That was long before all the machinery when each person had to balance to-the-penny before they could leave. After leaving the bank, she was a cashier at Deposit Central School for MANY years. During that time, she was the JV/Varsity Cheerleading Coach for 12 years. One of her favorite jobs was being Mama to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and taking care of them whenever needed. Dorothy was a member of the Deposit Fireman’s Auxiliary since its inception. She served in that capacity for 50 years. She was a very dedicated member of St. Joseph’s and was in the Catholic Daughters for years. Right up until passing, she was instrumental in keeping things going/organized for mass each week. She is most known for being a faithful servant of God and fervent prayer warrior. She could always be counted on to pray and light a candle for those in need. A Private Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Church, Deposit, NY with Rev. Daniel Quinn officiating. Mass will be posted virtually to St. Joseph’s Church Deposit Facebook Page. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 78 Second St. Deposit, NY on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4 to 6 pm. Interment will be held in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deposit, NY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, 975 NY Route 11, Kirkwood, NY 13795.
