With Broken Hearts we announce the death of Duane D. Slocum. He passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Scared Heart after enduring a long battle with cancer.
During his life he had been a truck driver and a custodian at the Susquehanna Community School.
A quiet humble man he enjoyed hunting and his horses. By far the greatest love of his life was his family.
He was predeceased by his parents Grant & Clarina (Empett) Slocum, and son-in-law Ronald Wasko.
Duane is survived by his loving wife Rita (Bowman) Slocum, Daughter Deanna (Slocum) Wasko, Son and daughter-in-law Wayne & Kireen (Bartkus) Slocum, grandchildren Cameron Wasko, Jocelyn Wasko, Shayna Slocum, Malinda Slocum, Courtney (Slocum) Westbrook, and grandson-in-law Justin Westbrook.
A committal service will be held at the convenience of the family at the North Jackson Cemetery
