Edward Douglas Carrillo Of Deposit, NY Doug was born October 7,1943 in NYC and moved to Deposit with his wife, Alice, in 1979. He passed at home Sunday, August 18, 2024, being predeceased by his parents, Mario and Iris, and oldest brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice, children Rita and Jim (Lori), brother Donald (Diana), and grandchildren Elizabeth (Daniel) Johnson and Jonathan Carrillo. Elizabeth gave him 3 beautiful great-grandchildren, Addie, Theo, and Olivia, who brought a smile to his face when seeing them in person or FaceTime. Doug was an offset printer while in NYC at Conde Nast and continued in the printing industry at Valley Offset and Courier Printing Corp when moving upstate. He later had his own general contracting business. When he gave a quote, the job was either that price or less, which amazed most of his customers. Doug was a U.S. Marine! He served his country in the Cuban Missile Crisis and later his community as commander of VFW 6609 for many years. He was always ready to march in our parades, participate in a funeral gun salute, or flip pancakes/serve beer at a fundraiser. Doug was a Mason and active member of Eastern Star. When the Lodge flooded, he spent many weekends repairing the damage. He also did a lot of maintenance to the building. Always ready for a party, he hosted many a VFW and Mason/Star picnic. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Thanks for the wonderful care and support by friends, family, Roswell Park Cancer Center, the Wyndham Hotel in Buffalo, and the Eastern Broome Emergency Squad. The Family will receive friends at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 78 Second St. Deposit, NY, on Wednesday August 21, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm and Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 10am to 11am. A Masonic Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 7pm. Interment with Military Honors will be held Thursday at 11am at Hale Eddy Cemetery, Deposit, NY.
