Eleanor Petts Griffin Of Rockville, MD Eleanor Petts Griffin passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Rockville, MD. She was born on October 15, 1930, in Ronco, PA, daughter of Charles and Pearl (Kobosky) Petts. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Walter D. Griffin Sr., in 2007. She was also predeceased by her many siblings and brothers and sisters-in- law. She graduated from Concordia College in 1951 with an associate degree and Oneonta State Teachers’ College in 1953 with a bachelor of science degree. Eleanor was a beloved teacher for 30 years in Margaretville, Grand Gorge and Gilboa School Districts in New York State. Eleanor was a very devoted wife and mother. She loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Frances and John Galloway, sons and daughters-in-laws, Lance and Nancy Griffin, Walter Griffin and Mary Healey, Steven and Ellie Griffin, grandchildren, Matthew Galloway, William Griffin (Chantelle Oxley), Steven Galloway (Caroline Hesse), Hannah Griffin, Jane Griffin and Jake Griffin and great-grandchildren, Wesley, Willow and Cypress Griffin. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Halcottsville Cemetery in Delaware County, NY at a later date.
