Elva Mae Wood Of Gelatt, PA Elva Mae Wood, 91, died Monday, February 16, 2015, at her home near Jackson, PA. Born in Ararat Twp., Susquehanna County, PA, on Dec. 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Jessiebelle (Murphy) Entrot. She graduated from Thompson High School in 1940 and married George William Wood in 1943. She worked at Endicott Johnson and IBM prior to her marriage and on the family dairy farm in Gelatt for more than 40 years. In 1988 Elva married Elson Stone. Elva was a member of the North Jackson United Methodist Church, Gibson Grange #798 and Sunshine Chapter #258, Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Elson; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Elaine Wood and Robert and Debra Wood; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Edmund Burdick; a son-in-law, Russell Conklin; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; stepdaughters Sandra Hobbs, Thompson, PA, Carol Smith, NV, Karen Bird, VA; stepson Ronald Diorka, KY; several nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, a daughter, Margaret Conklin; a sister Margaret Entrot Stafford; and a brother, Edwin Entrot. A Funeral Service will be held at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 11am, with Rev. Robert Harris officiating. Interment will be in Gelatt Cemetery, Gelatt, PA, at the family’s convenience. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday, February 20, 2015, from 4 to 7pm.
