Erma M. Whitmore

Erma M. Whitmore Of Susquehanna, PA Erma M. (Landis) Whitmore, 90, of Susquehanna, PA, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February, 26 2013, at the Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center. Erma was born in Harleysville, PA to the late Samuel A. Landis and Lizzie Anders Moyer Landis. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford, in 2009. Surviving is her brother, Paul Landis, of PA and his seven children. Having received a Bachelor’s Degree from Millersville Teachers College and a Masters Degree from Middleburg College in VT, Erma taught school in Butler, NJ. She and Clifford moved to Susquehanna County in 1978. She enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife from her cozy home in Hickory Grove. An avid gardener, she was always willing to share her knowledge of the many flowers in her garden. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 11am, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, in the spring. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday, March 1, 2013, from 10 to 11am. The family appreciates all that Mary Parks and her neighbors have done for Erma in the recent years.
