Eugene Robert Barton, 72, of Susquehanna, passed away peacefully at his residence on Washington Street on February 24, 2025.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert E. Barton and Beatrice W. Barton, his sister, Susan D. Wheeler, his brother, James Barton, and his sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Butch Napolitano of Oakland, PA.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Shianne S. Barton of Bellefonte, PA, and his granddaughters, Trinity P. King and Tenley S. King. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jefferey H. Wheeler of Susquehanna, PA; his nieces, Shelia Groover, Theresa Travis and Brittany Barton; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Known to many as “Black Bart,” Eugene proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He spent much of his career working in the stone quarry, where he was recognized for his dedication and hard work. He was an inspiration to all he worked with. Eugene was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

Interment will be in Stevens Point Cemetery at a later date.
