Eugene L. Price

Eugene L. Price Of Susquehanna, PA   Eugene joined his heavenly father on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ruth; his son, Raymond; his parents, Grant and Margaret; and his brother, Raymond. Gene is survived by his son Kevin and wife Margi, their children Bryan and Craig; daughter Rachel and husband Bob, their children Ryan and Meghan; daughter-in-law, Rita and her children Claressa and husband Greg, and Hannah; daughter Susan; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Mike Vaccaro; his sisters, Ruth Ellen and Mary Price; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gene, a veteran of the Army, was a Corporal stationed in Korea. After his service to his country, he was employed as a lineman at Penelec and was later promoted to a supervisory position prior to his retirement. During this time he was an active member of the Susquehanna Fire Department, The Boy Scouts of America, and the Moose Lodge. His expansive knowledge of local history coupled with his time and energy were invaluable resources to the Susquehanna County Historical Society. Beyond his affiliations with local organizations, his true passions included craftsmanship and gardening. Many unique, artistic wood designs were inspired by his love for family. He treasured the time in his shop. While always considered an exceptional gardener, his dream became a reality with his commitment to the Cutler Botanical Gardens, where he completed his degree and earned the status of Master Gardener. His involvement with the Culter Gardens continued for the rest of his life. Gene demonstrated a proud and quiet devotion to his family. Everyone relied on his wisdom and guidance; his kitchen table was a testament to that. His grandchildren brought a special meaning to his life. Gene blessed us all with his strength and integrity. A private graveside service will be held at the North Jackson Cemetery, in North Jackson, PA.
