Florence N. Thorn

Florence N. Thorn Of Ararat, PA     Florence N. Thorn passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at the age of 91 with her family by her side. She was a resident of Forest City Nursing Home. Florence was born April 17, 1923 in Jermyn PA, to the late William and Olive Clark. She graduated from Scott Twp. High School. Her husband was the late Harry W. Thorn. She resided in Ararat, PA on the family farm where she lived all her life. Florence was survived by her five children; Carol and Al Vaverchak, of Uniondale, PA, Harold and Chris Thorn, of Edgewater, FL, Doug and Jessie Thorn of Thompson, PA, Jean and Mark Merrell of Vestal, NY, and Jane and Ron Wetzel of Simpson, PA; Three grandsons Gary and Brandon Wetzel of Simpson, PA, and Douglas and Kelly Thorn, of Daytona Beach, FL; one granddaughter Terri and Jeff McDonald of Susquehanna, PA; three great grandsons Kyle, Adam, and Cody McDonald, of Susquehanna, PA; and two great granddaughters Allison and Alexandria Thorn of Daytona Beach, FL. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19th, 2014, at 11am, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, with Pastor Joyce Thorn officiating. Interment will be held in the Ararat Cemetery, Ararat, PA. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014, from 5 to 8pm.
