Frank William Fineout, a lifelong resident of Deposit, NY passed away on August 24, 2022, at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, CT after a long battle with kidney and heart disease. He was 81 years old.

Frank was born on May 9, 1941, the second of three children born to Susan Dorothy (Smith) and Luzerne Albert Fineout. Frank’s father, Luzerne, died in April 1944, leaving behind his wife Dorothy, and children Barbara (5), Frank (2) and Beverly, who was born three months after Luzerne’s death. Frank’s mother married Henry Rode in 1947.

Frank was a 1960 graduate of Deposit Central School.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and gardener. He took great pride in the extensive vegetable and flower gardens he cultivated at his home. He also enjoyed country and bluegrass music and was a lifelong baseball fan.

In addition to his father, Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, in 2003; his sister, Helen (Rode) Tracy, in 2012; and his sister, Beverly (Fineout) Zandt, in 2014.

Frank is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Carol (Gregory) Fineout; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Brian Steinberg, of Stamford, CT; his granddaughter, Molly Claire Steinberg, of Stamford, CT; and his sister, Barbara Walley, of Wellborn, FL.

The family would like to acknowledge Frank’s dear friends Larry (Robin) Schaefer, Chip (Elaine) Schaefer, and especially Lonny (Nicole) Schaefer, all of Deposit, who provided Frank with countless hours of companionship and fond memories, especially in his later years.
