Fred Leo Huth
Of North Jackson, PA
Fred Leo Huth, a devoted husband, father, and respected businessman, passed away on May 18, 2026, at Geisinger CMC in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Born on May 15, 1944, in Rahway, New Jersey, Fred lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a generous spirit.
Fred graduated from Woodbridge High School in New Jersey. Following his education, he established and ran his own general contracting business in New Jersey for over four decades. Upon retirement in 2008, he and his beloved wife relocated to Jackson, where they embraced their years together with warmth and passion.
Known as a great man by all who knew him, Fred was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness and generosity extended beyond his professional life, touching the lives of many in his community and family. Fred was deeply involved in his children’s lives, often coaching them in youth sports, strengthening bonds that endure beyond his passing.
A sports enthusiast, Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing softball, passions that reflected his love for the outdoors and active lifestyle. He stayed committed to his lifelong friendships and attended outings with high school buddies as often as possible.
Fred is survived by his devoted spouse of 61 years, Patricia (Lemchak) Huth; his children Kimberly and Robert DeBold, and Frederick and Lynette Huth; and his cherished grandchildren Victoria and Josef Gustafson, Griffin O'Brien, Dylan O'Brien, Ryan and Amanda Huth, Connor Huth, and Drew Huth. He also leaves behind his sister, Barbara Armistead; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Barbara Lemchak, and Carol Huth; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Florence Huth Sr., and his brother, Lawrence Huth Jr.
A memorial service to celebrate Fred Leo Huth’s life will be held at a later date.
