Frederick C. Krause Jr., 86, of Susquehanna, PA passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born in Binghamton, NY on January 28, 1938. He was the son of the late Frederick C. and Marie Krause of Montrose, PA.

He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Shelia A. Krause; son Eric; infant daughter Kristine; and brother Miles Krause Sr.

Fred is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Shawn & Sarah Krause; grandson Brayden; sister Beverly (Jack) Kephart; brothers John (Deanna) Krause and Randy Krause; along with many nieces and nephews.

Fred graduated from Montrose High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army from 1961-63. When he returned home from the Army he became a mailman in Montrose, PA until he retired in 1992. Upon retirement from the post office, he was a maintenance worker at the Susquehanna Community School District for several years. Fred was a member of the American Legion Post 86 in Susquehanna, PA for 45 years. He was also a member of the St. John’s Men’s Club in Susquehanna, PA. In his younger years, Fred enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling.

Fred was a gentle soul, always seeking ways to help others. He was a devoted spouse and a caring father. His proudest role was that of “Pop Pop” to his grandson Brayden.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11:00am at St. John’s Church in Susquehanna, PA.

Interment will be in the St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA

The family will receive friends at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Men’s Club, 15 E. Church St. Susquehanna, PA 18847.
