Frederick John Lacey

Frederick John Lacey (Rick), a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and respected dentist passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 71 with his wife by his side. Born on July 27, 1954 in Binghamton, NY to the late Robert & Esther (Anderson) Lacey, Rick’s life was a testament of his dedication to his family, his profession and his community.
He is survived by his loving wife Lynne, with whom he enjoyed 43 years of marriage, and 2 children: Emily Anderson Lacey, Abigail Bloomer Pollack (Brett) and grandson Bennett Anderson Pollack. He is also survived by brothers Robert Lacey (Joan) and Arthur Lacey (Debby); nieces Heather Hallet (Ben); children Mark and Ruth and Rebecca Dupree (Dan) and children Vanessa and Lucas; sisters-in-law Cynthia Burton (Tracy Eckhardt) and Laura Northrup (Tom), and niece Kim Lewis (Spencer).
Rick was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School, Colgate University, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He completed his post-doctoral dental residency at the Eastman Institute of Oral Health - University of Rochester. Rick proudly started his dental practice with his father in his hometown of Binghamton in 1982 and became known for his gentle touch and compassionate nature. He loved being a dentist and serving his patients.
Rick’s interests and activities outside of his practice were diverse and fulfilling. He was a man who enjoyed life attending Colgate Football games, skiing, golfing, opera, singing with the BCC Choir, and memorable moments at Oteyokwa Lake with his family and friends.
Rick was deeply committed to his faith. He was Baptized and Married at Trinity Memorial Church where he was active at the 8 am service for many years as a lector and altar server.
Rick served on a number of community and dental committees and boards throughout the years, was a Paul Harris Fellow Rotarian, and an Eagle Scout. Throughout his life he was a beacon of kindness, generosity, and wisdom. His unwavering support and love for his family, his dedication to his patients and his service to his community will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
At Rick’s request there will be no Funeral Services.
