George W. Irwin Jr. Of Unadilla, NY George Irwin, 80, of Unadilla NY, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, November 7th, 2021. George was born in Susquehanna, PA, to George Irwin Sr. and Mary A. Simmons. George proudly served in the United States Navy from June 1960 to June 1966. He later married his loving wife, Lena, and lived in Masonville, NY, and then later in Unadilla, NY. Together, they would spend their summers camping at local parks and hosting picnics and campfires with family and friends. George was also known to spend hours working in his shed on various woodworking projects. However, George’s greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. No matter what the hour, George was happiest to have a visit or phone conversation with his family. George was predeceased by his wife, Lena Irwin. He is survived by four siblings Gloria, Leona, Joyce, and Wayne; four children Debbie Chirico and husband Joey of Sidney Center, NY, Karen Brown of Lanesboro, PA, John Brown and wife Kim of Deposit, NY, and Randy Brown; seven grandchildren Mike Burnett, Diamond Brown, Austen Shaffer, Makenna Loucks, Trent Wagner, Bryce Chirico, Philomena Chirico; three great grandchildren Caylee Burnett, Greyson Burnett, and Nolan Shaffer. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1pm at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Saturday from Noon till 1pm. Following the services there will be a celebration of life at 184 Riverview Drive in Susquehanna, PA.
