Gunther William Ottens Of Deposit, NY Gunther W. Ottens, 84 of Deposit, NY passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his home. He was predeceased by his parents John & Martha Ottens; father and mother-in-law Reid & Rita Conklin; sister and brother-in-law Marian & George Preston; brothers-in-law Ronald Conklin and Robert Hoyt. Gunther is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Patricia (Conklin) Ottens; children Cathy & Steve Depew; Lisa & Dan Andresen; and William & Lisa Ottens; brother and sister-in-law Walter & Joyce Ottens; sisters-in-law Barbara Hoyt, Janet & Frank Russo, Marilyn Conklin, Jean Conklin; grandchildren, Bradley Romano, Lacey & Ben Diemer, Christopher Romano, Matthew Romano and Corey & Alyssa Andresen; step grandchildren Heather & Manny Rodriquez, Joshua Carley and Ayla Carley; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gunther graduated from Scintilla-Bendix apprentice course and was a tool maker for 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed, hunting, camping, baseball, bowling, golf, and fishing. Gunther was a member of the Deposit Fire Department, Deposit Men’s Club and First United Methodist Church of Deposit. He enjoyed his Oquaga Lake fellowship and spending time with his family and friends, making them his famous “Manhattan’s”. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at 3pm, at First United Methodist Church, 109 Second St. Deposit, NY. The family will receive friends at the Church on Sunday, from 1 to 3pm. Interment will be in the North Sanford Cemetery, North Sanford, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deposit Fire Department PO Box 37 Deposit, NY 13754.
