Harry George Metcalf

Harry George Metcalf, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of his community, passed away on October 12, 2025, at Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. Born on February 24, 1940, Harry lived a life dedicated to his family and his profession as a truck driver until his well-deserved retirement.

Throughout his life, Harry was known for his loving nature and the joy he found in spending quality time with his family. He took great pride in being a father and grandfather, and he instilled in his loved ones the values of hard work and compassion. His relationships with his children—Rose Hendrickson, Linda Vernon, Mary Ives, James Alinio, Audrey Bush, Veronica Yount, Monique Wheeler, Stephen Metcalf, and Amy Warren—were central to his life, creating a legacy of love and support that will endure through generations. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember their time with him.

An avid outdoorsman, Harry embraced the beauty of nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was passionate about teaching children the joys of these activities, sharing with them his knowledge and appreciation for the great outdoors. This tradition of mentorship and adventure added immeasurable joy to his life and to the lives of those he influenced.

Harry is also survived by his siblings, Robert Metcalf and Jerrilynn Hood, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will remember him for his kind heart and good spirit.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine Metcalf, and his parents, Harry and Lillian Metcalf.

A graveside service will be held at a later date, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together to honor his life and legacy. Harry George Metcalf will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the memories made will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
