Hazel Howell, 92, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Barnes Kasson SNF in Susquehanna, PA after several health issues.

She was the daughter of the late Delbert & Romayne (Myers) Barrows. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Frederick Howell Sr and daughter June Hall.

Hazel is survived by her son Fred Howell Jr. & wife Lucinda of Tunkhannock, PA; daughter Louise Venne & husband Rich of Hop Bottom, PA; and several siblings; three grandchildren Jessica Miller & husband Luke, Craig Hall, Ericka Krol & husband Kris; three great grandchildren Natalie Rought, Avenleigh Howell, and Bentley Krol; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Hazel was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, and friend. She worked at Bingham’s Restaurant for many years as a baker extraordinaire and was known for her pies. She was lifetime farmer’s wife, known for her homemade butter and buttermilk. She loved flowers, her home, puzzles, crocheting, word search books, and holidays.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at Barnes Kasson SNF.

A Graveside service will be held at Gelatt Cemetery on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 10am.
