Helen M. (Covert) GreenOf Susquehanna, PA  Helen M. Green, of Susquehanna, PA, formerly of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, PA after an illness.She was born and raised in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late George and Alta Covert.Helen is predeceased by her loving husband Alfred G. Green, Sr., son Alfred G. Green, Jr., a brother Clarence Covert and two grandchildren Benjamin Matthew Green and Meghan Elizabeth Green.She is survived by her daughter-in-law Alberta F. Green, two grandchildren Lorne D. Green and Doriann Silvernail, and seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jonathan, Alexander and Victoria Green, Jennifer and Kevin Silvernail and Alicia Heller.Helen graduated from Barringer High School in 1936. She married Alfred G. Green on October 26, 1940, they moved to Livingston, NJ in 1954 where she became active in the Livingston Methodist Church with the choir and was a Sunday school teacher. She worked for Dr. John McKernan, Pediatrician, and later she worked for Prudential Insurance Company in Florham Park, NJ from where she retired.Helen was a past matron of the Livingston Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in 1979 and 1980. She moved to Brick, NJ in 1985 where she became active in the Lion’s Head South Organization as well as an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Toms River, NJ. She was also a volunteer for the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ and received the Ocean County Senior Volunteer Award in 2003.A memorial service will be held in Toms River, NJ at a later date.
