Hubert McTeer Lyons of Susquehanna, Pennsylvania and Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on November 26, 2023. Hugh was born on February 18, 1929 to George Washington Lyons and Annie Leila Herndon Lyons in Smoaks, South Carolina.

Hugh joined the Marine Corp at t h e age of 17 and did two tours of duty. He was very proud to serve his country. In 1952 he met Sarah Guarnieri and they wed in 1953 and had four children - Virginia Hale (Samuel), David Lyons (Elizabeth), Mark Lyons (Denise), and Susan Gallagher (Fred). They are also blessed with four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Hugh and Sarah moved to Susquehanna, Pennsylvania in the late 1950s where they raised their children. He worked as a carpenter and was very involved in his children's activities. He was also a lifetime member of American Legion Post 86 in Susquehanna. Upon retirement they moved to South Florida. He lived in Boynton Beach Leisureville for approximately 20 years, moving back to Pennsylvania in October 2023, where he resided with his son, David.

Hugh enjoyed his golf game very much and looked forward to his Tuesday games with friends. Hugh's first and foremost dedication was being a fantastic and wonderful father. He excelled at propping up his family and supported them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.

Services will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery and are pending at this time.
