Ilda “Babe” Scott (née Pazzelli)

Of Windsor, NY

On the evening of Thursday, November 7th, 2024, Babe peacefully went to be with the Lord. She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Antonio and Gilda Pazzelli, and her beloved siblings Guido, Alfonso, Aldolfo, Alfredo, and Ida. Born on August 14, 1929 on the family farm, Babe was surrounded by her loving family throughout her life.

She leaves behind three devoted daughters: Linda (John) Nolan, Kathi (Gary) Albrecht, and Connie (Vincent) Babino. Her legacy continues through her eight cherished grandchildren: John (Lisa) Nolan, Nicole (Donald) Williams, Brandon (Marcia) Albrecht, Danielle (Kurt) Vagts, Glenn (Lottie) Albrecht, William (Amanda) Latham Jr., Dylan (Raj) Latham, and Dakota (Kevin Davis) Latham. She was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Babe’s early years were spent at a one-room schoolhouse on the corner of Farnham and William Law Road, where she made many lifelong friends and delighted in sharing stories of their mischievous adventures. She graduated from Central High School in Deposit with the class of 1946. Proudly, Babe became one of the first women hired by the U.S. Postal Service in Binghamton, where she worked for 20 years before retiring.

After living in Staten Island and Binghamton, Babe returned to her cherished yellow house on Pine Street in Deposit. Her door was always open, and guests were greeted with a warm meal, a hot coffee, or a glass of wine. Known for her unconditional love and fierce devotion, she never let a phone call end without saying, “Love you, night-night.”

Babe’s kindness, warmth, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Calling hours for Ilda “Babe” Scott will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 78 2nd St. Deposit, NY, followed by a Memorial Service.

Interment will take place at McClure Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Babe’s life and honor her memory.
