India Leigh Zandt, 32, of Deposit, NY, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY surrounded by her family.

India was predeceased by her grandparents, Warren R. Freidank, George & Beverly Zandt, Yvonne Moore (aunt), and Thomas Freidank (uncle).

India is survived by parents George Michael & Lucille (Freidank) Zandt and grandmother Arlene Hassett. Mother of (Major) Thomas Alexander Giordani-Zandt and Ruby India Giordani-Zandt. Sibling to Carly & Brooks Pratt, Taylor Rapuzzi, and Caleb Zandt. Fiance to Timothy Giordani and aunt to her beloved nieces Melanie Rapuzzi, Annabella Pratt, and Violet Pratt. Special cousin to Patrick Hillegass and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

India was born in Johnson City, NY, on Friday, September 13, 1990. She was a beautiful child, known for her free spirit, humor, and natural ability to make all those who knew her better people than they were before they met her. She was a gifted colorist, but being born into a family of creatives was a given. Her sense of color was nothing short of phenomenal.

India enjoyed traveling and took her first solo trip when she was 13 to Florida to visit her family. She was also blessed to be a Rotary exchange student spending her time in Kecskemét, Hungary, where she learned to speak Hungarian fluently. India also traveled the entire continent of Europe, including Greece. She held fond memories of her trips there. India had many great gifts, but the most remarkable was her gift of empathy; India cared deeply about everything and everyone she came across in life. She was loved so much by her many friends and family. She held a deep bond with her brothers and sister, who are now incomplete without her. India was a magical being, and the light she emitted will never be dimmed.

The family will receive friends at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 78 Second St. Deposit, NY on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 6 to 8 pm.
