Irmgard Cleary, 87 of Deposit, NY, passed away on February 5, 2026, at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY. She was born on December 18, 1938.

She served as an executive assistant for a large insurance firm in Manhattan, NY, where her professionalism and attention to detail were highly regarded by her colleagues.

Irmgard's pride extended beyond her career; she was deeply involved in her community and embraced numerous roles that showcased her commitment to service. As a long-standing member of the Lions Club and the Eastern Star, she contributed her time and energy to uplift those around her. For many years, she was also an integral part of the Deposit Lumberjack Festival Committee, which reflects her spirited involvement in local celebrations and her passion for fostering community spirit.

She had a profound love for her cats, finding joy and companionship in their presence. This affection illustrated her kind-hearted nature and her ability to forge bonds, both with people and animals alike.

Irmgard is survived by her close friends and neighbors, who undoubtedly felt the warmth of her spirit and kindness throughout their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cleary, who will be lovingly remembered alongside her in the hearts of those who knew them.

In recognition of her life and contributions, family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for February 20, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hennessey's Funeral Home, located at 78 2nd St., Deposit, NY 13754. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM on the same day.
