Iva Westfall, 86 formerly of Susquehanna, PA passed away on April 19th, 2024, with her family by her side at her daughter’s home in Doylestown, PA.
Predeceased by her husband John (Curly) Westfall, parents Iva V. Dawn and Robert Dawn, siblings Florence Hoag, Robert Dawn, Richard Dawn, and niece Lora Lee Hoag.

Iva was born on Islip Long Island on May 18, 1937, and then moved to Binghamton NY for her formative years. Iva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, but most of all she was a dedicated nurse and loved being one! Graduating Charles S. Wilson Hospital School of Nursing in 1958, she was selected Student Nurse of the Year and went to Chicago for the recognition ceremony. Such a great accomplishment for a young woman in the day. After graduating she worked at Wilson Hospital in the preemie nursery as the Assistant Head Nurse. She married John (Curly) Westfall in 1965 and began her nursing career at Barnes Kasson Hospital until she retired in 1999. An avid birdwatcher, movie fan, music lover, and game enthusiast. She enjoyed canning and freezing vegetables from Curly’s garden as well as helping him make sausages and different smoked meats. She loved to drive and travel to new places. She had many friends and enjoyed retirement by dining out, taking cruises, vacations and various senior bus trips with friends and family.
Iva was selfless and dedicated to her family. She gave up her relaxing life of retirement to help raise her two grandsons from the ages of 3 and 5 years old after the sudden passing of their father. She gave every ounce of her being to make sure that the boys excelled at school, hobbies, and life. Iva was a devout Catholic, believed deeply in her faith and that she will be reunited with her loved ones.
Iva will be deeply misses by all whose lives she touched.
