James “Jimmy” Hanrahan, of Prospect St. Oakland, PA who was born on March 30, 1953, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 after an illness at Barnes Kasson Hospital/SNF in Susquehanna, PA.

Jimmy was predeceased by his parents Bernice Graves Clark and Edmond Hanrahan, his Grandparents Boots and Mandy Graves who raised him and his sisters after their mom passed away from Leukemia and several aunts and uncles.

Jimmy is survived by his sisters Kathy Scott of Ohio, Barbara Hanrahan of Great Bend, PA, his brother John Hanrahan of Binghamton, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jimmy did a brief stint in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. He worked many years at Arrow Spinning, Crosley Sawmill, Endless Mountain Stone, and SWSR filling water trucks where he became good friends with many of the truck drivers. He also befriended a deer that he was able to feed along with a few stray cats.

Jimmy loved his hunting years especially with his Uncle Doc. He loved living at the family hunting cabin that was totally off the grid. Recently he loved spending time with his cats. He loved watching his DVD’s about foreign countries learning about the different cultures or watching old shows and cartoons on DVD’s while eating his potato chips and drinking his Mountain Dew.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that a donation be made to Leukemia Research Foundation 191 Waukegan Road, Suite 105, Northfield, IL 60093 in his mother’s name, Bernice Graves Clark.

The family would like to Thank Dr B. Patel and all the staff on SNF for taking care of Jimmy during his time there, his roommate Carl Harvatine for keeping an eye on him and Roberta Perry for always making him smile or laugh. We appreciate you for all you have done to keep him comfortable during the last few months.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11:00am at the Lakeview Cemetery with a luncheon at the Lanesboro Community Center to follow.
